On July 19, 2025, our son, Grayson was involved in a devastating motorcycle accident on the Hwy 80 access road. He was hit by an 88-year-old man who is reportedly legally deaf and suffering from cataracts. The impact was catastrophic.

Thanks to the heroic efforts of an off-duty volunteer firefighter and a compassionate passerby who applied a tourniquet, Grayson’s life was saved. He was rushed to Hendrick North where doctors discovered his lower leg was essentially destroyed—hanging on by a thread of tissue. That night, he underwent emergency surgery to clean the wound, stop the bleeding, and attempt to save the leg.

Despite every effort, Grayson developed a severe infection, causing a dangerously high fever (105.7°) and heart complications. Just two days later, he endured a second surgery to amputate his leg below the knee. He also required a blood transfusion and remains in the hospital, still battling complications, including a rising white blood cell count that doctors are actively working to understand.

The physical and emotional toll is unimaginable—but Grayson remains unbelievably strong. He is determined to recover, rebuild, and eventually start welding school, which he had to postpone due to the accident.

Unfortunately, the driver who hit him carried only the state minimum insurance, which provides a maximum of $30,000 for medical expenses—barely a drop in the bucket compared to the mounting costs for:

Emergency care and multiple surgeries

Extended hospitalization and ongoing treatment

Physical and occupational therapy

Home modifications and accessibility tools

A prosthetic leg and future custom fittings

Travel expenses for treatment in Ft. Worth

Adapting his truck for mobility access

Loss of income and the need to move to a more accessible home

We are asking our community—those who love Grayson or simply believe in rallying around those who are hurting—to help however you can. No donation is too small. And if you can't give financially, your prayers and well wishes are deeply appreciated.

Grayson has shown incredible courage and grace through this life-changing ordeal. He’s focused on healing, adapting, and coming back stronger. Let’s help him get there.

Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
