Support Grayson's Battle Against Rare Liver Cancer

Family & Friends, On March 12th, we received news about our son Grayson that rocked us to our core.
On the evening of Monday, March 10th, we noticed an area on the right side of Grayson's abdomen that looked raised/swollen, almost like a ball under the skin. I took him to his primary doctor on Tuesday morning, the 11th, and after examination, we were sent to get an X-ray of his abdomen, then followed up with an ultrasound the next morning of March 12th.
Amazingly, he had no other symptoms and had been his regular self, so we thought it was possibly stool blockage. Unfortunately, the ultrasound confirmed a large mass on his liver the size of a grapefruit. We were devastated and scared, to say the least.
Thursday, March 12th, he had an operation to remove the mass from his liver and was in surgery for about 6 hours. Those hours were the most nerve-wracking 6 hours of me and my family’s lives. Thankfully, the surgeon was able to remove it all. for which we are so grateful!
Now he is recovering at Mercy Hospital here in St. Louis. We have been here for 12 days now. He is healing and progressing! Hopefully, we will get to go home soon.
Never in a million years did we think it was something this serious. We are still in shock and trying to process everything. We are so grateful he was seen so quickly. The team at Mercy has been wonderful to our son, and we are so appreciative. ❤️
Unfortunately his team of doctors have confirmed a diagnosis of UESL - undifferentiated Embryonal Sarcoma of the Liver. Yes, cancer. A very rare and aggressive cancer at that. We now have to prepare ourselves in any way possible. Prepare ourselves for months of chemo for our son, our firstborn, our baby. Prepare ourselves and him for the level of care and attention he will desperately need.
As his mother, I am grateful I am able to take time off of work to help our son manage the symptoms of being on chemotherapy. Unfortunately, the time off is unpaid. If you know me well, you know it’s hard for me to ask for help. But this, this is different. This is our child. Our beautiful son, and I would go to any length possible to help him & our family navigate through this incredibly hard time. We will need assistance to help us pay our bills, doctor's visits, and for treatments to come. In addition to anything that will help him combat the harsh side effects of chemotherapy. So we are asking, begging, and pleading if you find it within your heart to help us along this journey, ANY kind of assistance would be greatly appreciated by our little family. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts, and we send you all the love. Thank you. ❤️
