Asking for help is not my strong suit, so please bear with me as I type this. This September, I adopted my amazing little Graycie. At her establishment appointment with our vet, I had mentioned that her right hind leg "pops" whenever she walks and it was determined through x-rays that at one point in her life, before she was adopted and in the safe hands of a local humane society and then me, that she was abused. We think her hip was broken and didn't heal properly.
As a result, she has developed something called avascular necrosis, which in simple terms is when the bone isn't getting enough blood flow and causes the bone to weaken and can ultimately cause it to break. To avoid this from happening, Graycie will need to undergo a surgery to help her pain and give her the best possible life imaginable.
I can't even imagine the pain and suffering Graycie endured, all before she was 9 months old. Now as a fresh 1 year old, I'm hoping that by having this surgery, she will live a pain free and long life with me. After research and talking with our amazing veterinarian, this is the best way to ensure this.
Anyone who truly knows me knows how much love and care I give my animals. Anyone who truly knows me also knows that asking for help is something I avoid doing at all costs, even if I desperately need it. Today, I'm asking for help. After going through so much with Weston and the costs of the countless procedures he had towards the end of his life, I have gotten pet insurance this time around for Graycie. Unfortunately, because this is a pre-exisiting condition, insurance will not cover any part of the surgery.
I know just how difficult times are right now for many, which is the reason I have to ask for help myself. If you are able to donate, even just a dollar, please know just how appreciative I am and how thankful I will forever be with you helping me provide this life changing surgery for Graycie.
Thank you for your love and support of not just my sweet Graycie, but me as well!
