Music changes lives.
It builds confidence, creates friendships, supports wellbeing, gives people a voice and can open doors to opportunities that change the course of someone’s life.
At The Studios in Newquay, we get to see this every day.
But for many talented young and emerging musicians in Cornwall, talent alone isn’t enough.
Access to professional recording facilities, equipment, mentoring, industry guidance and opportunities can be expensive and difficult to find—particularly for those just starting out.
We want to help change that.
Hi, I’m Nadine
Over 20 years ago, I took my first singing and dancing lessons in Australia and instantly fell in love with performing. That passion has shaped my entire life.
Today, I perform with my band Bow River, teach singers of all ages, and run The Studios in Newquay—a community music school, rehearsal space, recording studio and music shop.
Music has given me so much throughout my life, and I feel incredibly privileged to be able to share that passion with the next generation.
Watching a nervous beginner play their first chord, seeing a young singer find their confidence, or watching a local musician perform something they’ve created themselves is what makes The Studios so special.
But over the years, I’ve also seen just how difficult the journey can be for musicians trying to take their next step.
Why Cornwall?
Cornwall is home to an incredible amount of creativity and musical talent, but opportunities and resources aren’t always easy to access.
For a young or emerging artist, creating professional recordings, videos, photographs and promotional material can cost hundreds or even thousands of pounds.
There can also be limited access to industry connections, mentoring and the people who can help turn potential into opportunity.
We believe where you live—or what you can afford—shouldn’t determine whether you get the chance to pursue your musical dreams.
What We’ve Already Achieved
Since opening The Studios in 2016, we’ve worked to make music accessible to people of all ages and backgrounds.
We’ve taught hundreds of students, supported local musicians, provided rehearsal and recording facilities, and created a welcoming space where people can learn, create, perform and grow.
Every year, our Giveback Concert brings together students and local musicians to raise money for school music departments across Cornwall. The money raised is reinvested into instruments and equipment, helping more young people access music education.
We’re also proud to work alongside charitable organisations supporting disadvantaged learners, young people with additional needs and families who might otherwise struggle to access music tuition.
But we want to do more.
And we believe our recording studio can play a much bigger role in supporting Cornwall’s grassroots music community.
Our Next Step: Upgrading The Studios
Our recording studio has served a purpose over the past couple of years, but the equipment and facilities now need significant investment in order for us to take our services and vision to the next level.
We want to create a professional, flexible and welcoming recording environment where local musicians can make high-quality recordings, develop their skills and create content that can help them take the next step in their musical journey.

We are going to be investing a significant amount from the business in our pursuit of this goal, but right now, we are asking for a bit of help to get the project going so we can continue to invest - not just in the studio but in the musicians who need it.
Every improvement we make will increase what we’re able to offer our existing community - and the greater Cornwall music scene!
It means better recordings for local artists.
Better opportunities for our students.
Better content for emerging musicians.
And a stronger creative space for Cornwall’s grassroots music scene.
But This Is Only Phase 1…
Our long-term vision goes much further.
We are currently working towards Phase 2 of our studio development, which will build on these foundations and allow us to develop a structured Artist Development Programme for emerging musicians.
Our ambition is to launch the first cohort of our Elevate Artist Accelerator Programme in 2027.
The programme will support a small group of promising grassroots artists through a structured development journey, helping them develop not just their music, but the skills and tools they need to build sustainable careers.
Each chosen Artist could benefit from a package of :
- Professional recording and music production
- Professional photography, Video and visual content
- Artist bios, branding and promotional materials
- Performance development
- Career and industry guidance
- Mentoring and connections
- Live performance and showcase opportunities
The aim is to connect talented local artists with the wider music ecosystem—helping them move from creating music to building a sustainable career around it.
But we can’t build that future without first investing in the foundations.
That’s why this fundraising campaign matters.
Why Your Support Matters
When you donate to The Studios, you’re not simply helping us buy equipment.
You’re investing in a space that already supports our community—and helping us make that support even stronger.
The equipment we purchase will be used again and again.
By our students.
By local bands.
By emerging artists.
By songwriters.
By performers.
By the next generation of musicians who walk through our doors.
One studio upgrade could help hundreds of people over the years.
And every artist we help could go on to inspire hundreds more.
Our Goal: £5,000
Our target is £5,000 to begin Phase 1 of our studio upgrades.
Whether you can donate £5, £25, £50 or £1,000, every contribution helps us move closer to creating the facilities our community deserves.
And if you can’t donate, sharing this campaign is just as valuable.
Tell your friends.
Share it with a musician.
Send it to someone who has learnt at The Studios.
Share it with someone who believes Cornwall’s young people deserve opportunities to pursue their creativity.
Every share helps us reach someone else.

To show our gratitude, we’re offering some rewards that can also help our talented and generous community with their own musical goals.

Help Us Build Something That Lasts
The Studios has always been about more than lessons, rehearsals or recording.
It’s about giving people a place to belong.
A place to learn.
A place to create.
A place to find their confidence.
And, hopefully, a place where the next generation of Cornish musicians can take their first steps towards something bigger.
Phase 1 starts with upgrading our studio.
Phase 2 will build on that foundation.
And our ambition is that, in 2027, Elevate Artist Accelerator Programme will give emerging artists the structured support they need to take their music further.
We’d love you to be part of that journey.
Help us raise £5,000.
Help us give talented young people the opportunity to turn their musical dreams into reality.
Thank you for supporting The Studios.
