Hurricane LaLa has hit the South Point Banyan Tree House… Hard. Many of you will know it by its iconic, 70+ year old Banyan tree standing tall and proud next to the house. Many of you have memories of staying here, at this magical property as guests over the years, and permanent residents as well. A retreat for lovers, a call to all adventurers from around the world.

My grandpa (Greg, 80) has spent much of his life laboring over this place, and his entire heart was in every (very intentionally placed) stone on the property.

On August 15th-16th, Hurricane LaLa hit, gusting 80 mph winds, and torrential rain caused a river to crash through the property. Both of his cars were washed away, the 3rd, 4 feet under mud. The downstairs level where he lives is flooded to the ceiling and uninhabitable- all of his personal items, down to his clothes, were lost. 2 houses on the property were lost completely. Our tenants will have to find new homes after living here happily for many years.

Greg is old, he just hit 80, he cannot work like he used to, and he does not have property insurance. We would like to help him get new housing, a new (old beater) car, and to repair some of the damage that happened. 5 feet of mud will need to be moved to start. After hurricane LaLa, much damage was done, but hopefully not all is lost- after all the Banyan is still standing- strong and tall. We are turning to the power of the people to assist and rally around him during this tough time to get some assistance with the magical home that was the Banyan Tree House.

Every Dollar will be donated to help Greg during this time, and neighbors that have also lost everything.
