UPDATE 8/20/24
We just wanted to update everyone, Papa and Sherry received the denial letter from insurance yesterday. They are making some progress slowly. All the drywall is out, and the house is drying out nicely but still need to get tile out and find contractor to start the rebuild. Papa is working on getting his Equinox replaced and the other cars still trying to save .They are so appreciative from all the love support and donations received so far and have helped tremendously.

We would like to thank everyone e for the donations and give an update . They have had to gut the house from 4 ft down through the whole house . We have moved everything that could be saved into storage units and have been told by adjusters that they have a great chance of not being covered for anything . This neighborhood of 85 homes is destroyed and in devastation. The next step is for a restoration company to come in and treat for mold/mildew and put dehumidifiers in . We do not know yet how much that will cost . They should have estimate back in a few days . I will post a few pictures here . We will keep updating as we reach each step in rebuilding there life .

My name is Ryan Barker. I am 12 years old I live in Valrico Fl.My grandpa lives in Sarasota and his house just got flooded in the very recent Hurricane Debby in Sarasota Florida. My grandpa is 77 and his house has 3-4 ft deep water throughout it .He has to replace all personal items and rebuild his whole entire house and he lost sentimental things that were very valuable as well as a 72 Chevrolet Camaro he restored . He also had a very rare restored 2009 Pontiac G8 GT which was made for only 2 years in Australia .
When I was younger, we went to car shows together . I still have those trophies .The water is still up to the windows at the house about 3-4 feet deep as of today 8/8/24 . It was very sad when my mom got the phone call on Tues 8/6/2024 that my grandpa‘s house was completely flooded. So now he has to live in a hotel while we find a place for them to live until they can rebuild .They have a few outfits for him and his wife and the furniture is now completely gone. It is very sad .Our first goal is to reach $20,000 and if we reach our goal, we can raise the amount 35,000 we can keep raising the amount of money to our desired goal of $50,000 .If people in the community can help me do that for my grandpa and his wife in this very dire emergency, I would be so grateful. So everybody I hope this story touches your heart because I’m gonna really need all the support I can get and this is one of the only ways we can get money as my grandpa is retired and his wife works at a hospital. If you can donate to help my Grandpa and Sherry get back up on their feet it would be so appreciated .
