Our 4-year-old cat Graham wasn’t feeling well or acting like his normal energetic, playful, and loving self. We realized something was seriously wrong and brought him to the emergency vet at Tufts, where we found out he had a urinary blockage. Graham’s kidney levels and potassium levels were very high, which could’ve been fatal if not caught in time. The vets did a procedure to unblock his urinary tract and decided he needed to stay overnight in the ICU to be given fluids and medications to keep him comfortable. The down payment just to keep him overnight in the hospital was $3,750. This price could get as high as $5,000 or more by the time he is released. This was all very unexpected, and with the holidays coming up, the financial burden is detrimental for us. Anything given will go directly to paying for Graham’s medical care!
