Hi, my name is Sherie. My sister, Julie, and I are owned by an 8 year old corgi named Grady who is the absolute joy of our lives. He was diagnosed with Lymphoma in 2021 at the age of 4. He had 7 months of chemo and radiation and thankfully went into remission - where he remains today. He beat the odds, by a lot! When diagnosed we were told he’d have a year.
Grady has had a few other medical issues in his life, including bladder stone surgery and a few episodes of IVDD. He is now showing signs of DM. Degenerative Myelopathy is a progressive disease, similar to ALS in humans. It leads to muscle weakness and loss of coordination, mostly in the hind limbs. Eventually it worsens until it causes complete paralysis.
Grady is in the early stages and hopefully still has some good time left. He needs the support of therapy and assisted mobility. He is knuckling his back paws and stumbling and tripping when walking.
If you feel in your heart to donate, the funds will be used for his medical expenses including therapy and supplements to help him build muscle strength to extend his quality of life.
Asking for help is so hard for me. I am so overwhelmed by the amount of love and generosity already being shown to us from just a few posts on social media.
Thank you all from the bottom of our hearts for your love and support.
