Support Graduate Worker L Resist Visa Revocation!
Donation protected
Join GEO in supporting L and her sister, so they can afford rent, food, and legal representation.
L is a graduate student at UIC with a bright future ahead of her - until she was caught in the federal government's repressive immigration dragnet. Along with her sister, her SEVIS status has been terminated without due process. She is no longer allowed to work, and cannot receive money from her family. Her remaining savings have been spent trying to secure a lawyer.
To make matters worse, UIC's Office of International Services has not been able to provide material support or meaningful guidance. In fact, L has even been encouraged to return to her country of origin - which is not an option.
An injury to one is an injury to all. What they're doing to L, they could do to any of us. Let's come together and make sure she has a chance at a secure future to finish her studies at UIC. Anything you can donate will make a difference.
If you're a graduate employee at UIC, join the union and our fight for a fair future, including summer funding guarantees for all international workers now, and a hardship stipend for workers facing immigration issues like L.
