Hello,
This is Gracie, an 8 year old 3/4 weiner dog 1/4 chihuahua masterpiece. She is my bonded dog (also known as the doggie love of my life) and she just had open spinal surgery two days ago. We began with her in pain and loss of function day and night from we didn't know what. After multiple vet appointments and a myriad of test and scans including a CT and an MRI (totaling in excess of $7000), we were able to discover that she had IVDD, which is a severely ruptured herniated disc pinning her spinal column and trapping nerves and an additional 5 disc nearby were at risk as well and that was what was wreaking the havoc. The surgery was an additional $5200 that we paid two days ago, with a portion being on credit that I negotiated with the Neuro Vets office. We cannot refi or HELOC our home, we have no 401k to borrow from and I have reached out to every charity that I have been sent info on and of those that she might have "qualified" for we have been turned down or had no response to our applications for funding. Which brings me here with my humble hat in my hands. We have taken on just under $10,000 in debt in a very short amount of time.
Most of you may know that I lost my beloved brother to cancer on May 10, our grandmother passed three days before him on May 7, a step sister and a woman who was like an aunt to me passed on June 16 and our mother 15 months before him in Feb of '23...
I honestly do not know if I can handle any more grief and anguish, I am genuinely a little worried about my emotional health at this time. I am asking my friends, family, community and their friends, family and community to help me ease this financial burden on my family somewhat while we are with her night and day through the 6-8 week healing process while both still working and Josh in full time classes at ASU Teachers College as well.
