February 14th, on Valentine’s Day, Gracie had an unexpected, tonic-clonic (grand mal) seizure. She was taken to St. Mary’s Hospital in Grand Junction. She had a brain biopsy on February 18th and was diagnosed with terminal brain cancer, likely a high-grade glioma, at age 32. The doctor gave her a life expectancy of 3-6 months if she doesn't do any treatment or 6-12 months with treatment.

As many of you may know, Gracie is such a beautiful soul who's dedicated her life to making the world a better place and spreading joy in so many ways. Working as a public defender, she spends every day making sure that vulnerable people have the representation they need when they're at their lowest. She helps defend those who would otherwise be defenseless if there weren't people like Gracie who believed in the good in people. Even in her personal life, she is a caring, compassionate, and kind wherever she goes. Whether it be supporting her friends through difficult times, volunteering her time to support important causes, or just putting a smile on someone's face, she always strives to be a good force in this world.

The money will go directly to her to help her and her family with paying for all basic necessities like groceries/supplies, offsetting the hefty medical costs that have come with this shocking diagnosis, making sure she's as comfortable as possible through this difficult time, and bringing her as much joy as possible.

Although the specifics are in work, we're looking to get her back to doing the things that bring her joy however we can with the time that we have. As her friends and family know, her favorite thing is being on the slopes skiing, so we hope to be able to get her back on the slopes at least one more time if the doctors will allow it, and your contributions here will help make that happen.
