In December of last year, my best friend Gracie Ward got married to her high school sweetheart Chris Ward, and just last month were finally able to buy their first house together. Unfortunately, on October 1st, Chris was hospitalized with kidney failure, with his doctors saying he had only 5% kidney function at best. Despite keeping a straight face through this to keep his wife from worry, he now has to receive dialysis treatments 3 times a week until his doctors are able to give him a more permanent solution. Gracie, who was on the cusp of graduating from baking school, has had to give that up in order to search for a new job to keep them both afloat while Chris is out of commission, as well as to take him back and forth to these dialysis appointments. As such, this GoFundMe aims to try to ease their stress by lifting as much financial weight as possible during this difficult time.
