Update: A special thank you to each and every one of you who donated to my cause, my mastectomy was a success, and I am now in the process of recovery, thanks to Dr. Francis and the amazing team at Spectrum! God is indeed great ! However, my journey is not completely over, as I still have to complete chemotherapy.

I have been living in a challenging reality since the tragic loss of my husband and the sudden news of receiving a diagnosis of stage two breast cancer shortly thereafter. In March 2024, I found a mass in my right breast and quickly had it checked out. A few days after my husband’s death, I traveled to Nassau so that I could start making funeral arrangements. During this time, I was scheduled for a mammogram and a biopsy, which I did. Two weeks later, my children received news that the lumps were malignant. At this time, they did not inform me, as they were advised to deliver the news after my husband’s burial, as I was in an emotionally distraught state ! My kids did further testing (receptor test) to find out the cause of this cancer. A few days after the funeral, they received the results from the receptor testing stating that it was stage two breast cancer, causation being hormonal. Dr. Zenna Friend then gave me the news alongside my siblings for support.

I will need a mastectomy (scheduled for September 9th) , which is an amputation of my right breast, lymph nodes will also be removed from my right breast and underarm area, followed by a series of chemotherapy treatments.

I am seeking your help to give me the best possible chance at a successful surgery and recovery, as I do not have medical insurance to assist with the financial costs. Additionally, with my husband now gone ( he was the breadwinner of our family ) this has placed a financial strain on me. A donation of any size will significantly help relieve the financial burden of healing.
