What we thought was just strep a deep cough rsv something anything other than what happened. Turned into an emergency surgery and a nice hospital stay.

Tuesday morning Gracelynn woke up with a deep cough, went to work. Went home early cause of her cough. Took her to the dr what we thought was a viral infection. She got worse after she ate she wasn’t eating much at daycare but isn’t unusual for her. She start vomiting! Took her to Akron children’s hospital emergency department. After calling the nursing line and then telling us she probably had a bowel obstruction she needs an ultrasound. Okay let them know we’re on our way. We got to the hospital we waited for 4 HOURS and she was treated as a low priority patient. She had 4 more kids in front of her and if anyone else came in more emergent than her. She was pushed back even more. Well, she peed, she was sleeping, and she hadn’t vomited in 3 out of the 4 hours we were there so we came home because she seemed okay. We got home and I told Christian something is wrong. I know there is. So we put her owlet sock on her to keep her monitored. 5am comes around and I KNOW something is wrong with her. She ended up vomiting bright green on my bed and then Christian ended up changing her diaper and it was FULL of blood. We drove her right up to rainbow babies in Cleveland. She was admitted in 15 minutes and was in surgery 3 hours later. She had a “slipping of one part of the intestine into another part of the intestine”. They had to pull out all her intestines of her body and pull them apart to put them back together. Then they looked at what was healthy and what wasn’t healthy. They had to remove a small piece of her colon, and a small section of her small intestines near her rectal. She also had her appendix removed as they had died as well. She has been out of surgery since 5pm. She is out of Surgery and recovering. Unfortunately now she needs a NG tube to make sure her stomach doesn’t stop working because she is not eating by mouth currently and they’re trying to get her formula figured out and followed by a GI doctor. Anything would help tremendously as we just got caught back up from her nicu stay in September to October. We would like to stay ontop of all medical bills as we are a two working family household.
