Hi, my name is Grace, and I’m reaching out with a heavy heart because my cat Mokie—my best friend, my comfort, and a huge part of my healing—is fighting for his life.

In the past 30 days, Mokie has been to the vet three times for a recurrent urinary blockage, a painful and potentially deadly condition. Just this week, I brought him in on Wednesday, picked him up Thursday after 24 hours of care, and was told he was stable.

Less than 24 hours later, he’s lethargic, straining, and fading in front of me. His bladder is hard as a rock, and I’m now waiting for the vet to call me back so I can take him in for a fourth emergency visit.

I’ve exhausted every resource I have—Care Credit, savings, everything. The emotional toll is unbearable, but the financial burden is now more than I can carry alone.

Mokie isn’t just a pet. I got him with money I received after my mom passed away. He was meant to be something soft, something to love, something to hold onto in the aftermath of grief. He’s been that and more. He’s my peace. My heart. My link to her.

Watching him suffer, knowing I’m running out of options to help him, is devastating.
