Help Gia Rebuild After Losing Everything in the Pacific Palisades Fire
Dear Friends, Family, and Kindhearted Strangers,
We are reaching out with heavy hearts to ask for your support for our dear friend, Gosia Gia Shaenan, who has just suffered an unimaginable loss. The recent Pacific Palisades fire destroyed her apartment and everything she owned—leaving her with only the clothes on her back and her beloved pets, Mookie and Sugar. On top of this devastation, Gia also lost her source of income, making it even harder for her to begin rebuilding her life.
This tragedy comes after what has already been an incredibly difficult year. Gia has endured a painful divorce, multiple hospitalizations, and the challenge of trying to rebuild her life—only to now find herself starting over from absolutely nothing. Among the things lost in the fire were irreplaceable mementos from her late mother, making this loss even more heartbreaking.
Gia has been one of my dearest friends for 24 years. We have been there for each other through many of life's ups and downs through the years, and celebrated countless life events together. She is incredibly generous, always offering anything she has to help another. She is the person who shows up for others in their time of need—offering kindness, support, and love whenever it’s needed most. Now, she needs that kindness in return.
How You Can Help
Gia is strong, but no one should have to rebuild alone. We are hoping to raise funds to help her find a new place to live, replace basic essentials, and regain some sense of stability after this devastating event.
Your donation will go directly toward:
- Securing safe housing
- Replacing essential belongings (clothes, furniture, daily necessities)
- Caring for her dog Mookie and cat Sugar, who mean the world to her
- Helping her recover financially after losing her income
- Giving her the chance to heal and rebuild after so much loss
Any amount—big or small—will make a huge difference in helping Gia get back on her feet. If you are unable to donate, please consider sharing this fundraiser to help spread the word.
Let’s come together to show Gia that she is not alone in this journey. She has always been there for others—now it’s our turn to be there for her.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for your kindness, generosity, and support.
With gratitude,
