On Saturday morning, our family’s world was shaken when my mother-in-law’s food truck, Gorditas by Gorditas, caught on fire while parked outside her home in Fabens, Texas. In a matter of moments, years of hard work, sacrifice, and dreams were damaged.
Gorditas by Gorditas is more than a food truck — it’s a labor of love. She has poured her heart into serving her community, always showing up with generosity and kindness. Over the years, she has supported local schools throughout El Paso, donated food and time for community events, and helped raise money for Navy commands and military families. Giving back has always been part of who she is.
Her family proudly carries a legacy of service as well. Her son recently retired after 23 years of honorable service in the United States Navy — values of hard work, integrity, and service to others run deep in this family.
This fire has left her facing unexpected repair and replacement costs that threaten her ability to reopen and continue doing what she loves. We are asking for support to help rebuild her food truck, replace equipment, and get Gorditas by Gorditas back on the road serving the community she has always stood by.
Any donation — big or small — makes a difference. If you’re unable to give, sharing this fundraiser means just as much. Thank you for supporting a woman who has given so much to others and helping her rise again after this heartbreaking loss.
