Hey everyone! This is Good Boy..

I found this poor dog in Thousand Palms Ca on Ramon road near CVAC 1/4 mile before 1000 palms canyon road in the sand/rocks next to the road. I thought he was dead driving by, but I whipped around to be sure. He was alive! Barely. He was cold, shaking, unable to walk or lift his head, emaciated, and extremely dehydrated. I rushed him to VEG ER where they X-rayed him, did blood work, put him on IV FLUIDS, and monitored him over night.

No bones were broken, organs were okay, he was anemic, and liver values were a bit off, but that was to be expected in his condition. His feet do buckle when I hold him to stand up. He is unable to stand up and go to the bathroom on his own. He does have a slight tear in his esophagus from some unknown trauma, but the vets are not too concerned about that because he is breathing good.

I believe someone pulled over and dumped him out of their car. He couldn’t have walked there in his condition with his buckling feet. His nails were also very long. They wouldnt have been so long if he had just been loose and unfed for months in that desert area. Also, that areas has tons of coyotes. He wouldnt have lasted a night anywhere near his condition. He was a perfect car length over from the road too. I think someone pulled over and put him on the side of the road. I have no proof and their are no cameras in the area, but that would be my guess on how he got there.

As you know ER vet bills are pricey, a 12 hour stay at VEG was almost $3,000; so I transferred him to my Vet the next day to keep costs down, where he continued to be monitored and tested for Parvo and parasites. Parvo results came back negative, but he is being dewormed currently with Panicure.

My friend Anna covered the cost for those two days he spent at my Vet which was about $700. She also bought him a 4 wheel wheel chair to put him in and get him moving again. I have received many donations on Venmo, Zelle, and PayPal, but not enough the cover the ER visit and continued care and supplies.

All vets think he will make a full recovery ❤️‍ He will have a long road to recovery. It will take time, love, physical therapy, pet supplies, care giving supplies, and a few more vet visits. The vet says it could take 6 months. If anyone wants to donate, so I can continue his care, that would be so helpful!! Prayers also very appreciated. He can use all the love in the world right now.
