Help Support Our Friend and Landscaper, Gonzalo, as He Faces a Life-Changing Injury

UPDATE 12/9: Gonzalo is home but has been given a bit of a run around without home health coming to check on him as planned and the follow-up with doctors have not occurred as the hospital told him would occur. I am looking into a glove device that he could wear while working that would allow him to move the thumb with his other hand to continue the manual process. If anyone has a contact, please let me know. Gonzalo's family is grateful to everyone.

Gonzalo is more than the person who cares for our yards—he is someone who has cared for our families. Many years ago, our moving company canceled at the last minute, one call to Gonzalo changed everything. Within an hour, he arrived with his four brothers and their wives, driving their pick-up trucks and started packing our entire home without hesitation. His wife, Ema, has cared for many of our homes. This is the spirit of Gonzalo Gonzales Garden & Home: service rooted in generosity, reliability, and heart.

Last week, Gonzalo faced an unimaginable medical emergency. A sudden and severe infection on his nail led to the partial loss of his hand and entire thumb. No one could prepare for this—an unexpected crisis that has taken from him not only part of his hand, but also the very tools he has depended on to support his wife, children, and extended family. He remains hospitalized while doctors work to control the infection.

The physical pain has been overwhelming, but the emotional and financial strain on his family is equally profound.

This is our moment as a community to step forward.

For almost 2 decades, Gonzalo has shown up for us quietly, consistently, and with genuine care.

Now, he needs us to show up for him.
