Hi everybody,
Earlier this year, doctors discovered a mass in Gonzalo’s large intestine. Thankfully, it has been identified as pre-cancerous and has not spread. However, in order to prevent the cells from developing into cancer, doctors need to remove a significant portion of his large intestine.
Gonzalo will spend about a week in the hospital, followed by several weeks recovering at home.
Gonzalo works as an interpreter at both a psychiatric hospital and a drug rehabilitation facility, spending his days helping people who are navigating some of the most difficult moments of their lives. Unfortunately, because he is a contracted employee, he will not receive a paycheck while he is recovering.
We are raising funds to help ease the financial burden during this time. All proceeds will go directly toward covering Gonzalo’s lost income and any medical expenses while he heals.
If you are able to contribute, share, or simply keep Gonzalo in your thoughts, it would mean so much to him and everyone who cares about him.
Thank you for your kindness and support.
And please remember to get your colonoscopies — early screening truly can save your life.
