Gohar is a woman whose entire life has been filled with strength and selfless love. She is my neighbor, and she is my friend. Today, this remarkable woman needs our help.

After losing both of her beloved sons in their youth, Gohar’s world was shattered. Yet, her spirit was not. A devoted Christian, she built a small prayer shrine to honor her boys; it’s a quiet place of love, as a photoshopped image is the only "family portrait" they ever had time for.

Despite her own immense grief, she has shouldered the burden of being the sole provider for her husband, who is unable to work due to his disability.

Now, after just surviving a fight for her life, she and her husband are at the risk of losing the home she worked so desperately to keep.

The Sudden Crisis:

Gohar, well into retirement age, should be resting. Instead, she works tirelessly as a cleaning lady to make ends meet. Just days ago, she was juggling her time between making tomato paste to preserve for the winter before rushing to her next cleaning job when her critical heart condition worsened instantly.

On the way to her work, she was urgently rushed into an emergency, life-saving surgery, leaving everything on pause. Surgeons had to operate on five vessels in her heart; four were in critical, failing condition, and a fifth, while slightly better, still required repair. The unfinished tomato paste remains in her backyard, an image of a life that was suddenly interrupted.

The Devastating Financial Blow:

The surgery saved her life, but the cost is now set to take everything else.

Despite undergoing an emergency, life-saving procedure, her insurance provider failed her. The coverage was a pittance compared to the cost of her survival.

· The total cost of her life-saving surgery was 3,290,000 AMD (approx. $8,580 USD).

· Her insurance covered only 250,000 AMD (approx. $650 USD) - less than 8% of the total bill.

· This leaves a devastating debt of 3,040,000 AMD (approx. $7,950 USD).

With a minimum wage salary, they are faced with an impossible choice. Their only option to pay this debt is to sell the humble home they have shared for decades.

This house is their entire world. Its sale might cover the medical debt, but it would leave them with nothing. They would be forced to use what little is left to get a container home, all while facing the reality that Gohar can no longer work as she used to, including her unpaid time-off for recovery. They will soon have to rely on governmental support, which is next to nothing especially with the ongoing medications that she needs.

We cannot let this happen. After a lifetime of sacrifice, loss, and back-breaking work, Gohar deserves to recover in the safety of her own home.

Gohar has never asked for anything for herself. She has only ever given; to her family, her neighbors, and her faith. Now, she needs our help. We can give her the security she so rightly deserves.
