Godfrey is a union member and social worker at Fircrest RHC, where he takes care of adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. He was unjustly detained by ICE on September 22, 2026, when he pulled into the Fircrest campus to go to work, and is being held at the Northwest Detention Center in Tacoma.

Godfrey's coworkers are stepping up to donate shared leave, but more assistance is needed. All donations will go to help Godfrey with bills and legal assistance.
