Support GMT UCLA's Medical Mission to Nicaragua

Global Medical Training (GMT) at UCLA is dedicated to providing essential healthcare and sustainable initiatives in rural Latin American communities. By organizing free clinics, house visits, and pharmacy support, GMT bridges the healthcare gap, serving around 2,400 patients annually in the Dominican Republic, Nicaragua, Panama, and Peru. Our volunteers, trained weekly in clinical and prescription techniques, work closely with local physicians and translators to deliver comprehensive patient care from early morning until all are attended. We also distribute excess medications and implement long-lasting projects like water filters to ensure clean drinking water.

However, the costs of registration, travel, accommodations, and transportation create significant financial barriers for our volunteers, limiting participation and our ability to expand impactful programs. Funds raised through GoFundMe are crucial to support volunteers facing financial hardships and to maintain our supply of medications and preventative equipment. By securing these funds, GMT can continue delivering free healthcare, enhancing sustainability efforts, and fostering healthier, enduring communities.
