Support Gloria’s Cancer Recovery Journey

In August, the Rinkus family received devastating news. Gloria, a vibrant, outgoing, and compassionate 29 year old, was diagnosed with stage three oral cancer.

On October 20th, Gloria underwent major surgery in Boston to remove multiple lymph nodes from her neck and the majority of her tongue. She is currently recovering in the hospital, supported by an incredible medical team. She now has a tracheotomy and a feeding tube as she begins the long and challenging journey of healing. Despite everything, Gloria remains incredibly strong, continuing to inspire everyone around her with her resilience and the radiant smile that still lights up every room.

Gloria has always been an active and passionate person. Lacrosse has been a huge part of her life, whether it’s playing or coaching, she brings her whole heart to the game. This past summer, just two days before her diagnosis, she ran and completed the Falmouth Road Race. Helping raise money for ALS. It’s a testament to the kind of person she is always giving, always pushing forward.

She has also been working for JetBlue at the Martha’s Vineyard airport, further pursuing her career in aviation. Even with a full schedule, she always found time for family, friends, and giving back to others. Gloria’s positive energy, fierce determination, and genuine kindness have made her a beloved daughter, sister, friend, and partner.

Gloria’s family has been by her side every step of the way, taking time off work and relocating temporarily to Boston to be with her. The costs of surgery, hospital care, physical therapy, travel, and lodging are adding up quickly. This fundraiser will help ease the financial burden, allowing Gloria and her loved ones to focus fully on her recovery.
