UPDATE: Cancer Has Progressed – Gloria’s Battle Just Got Harder

Unfortunately, Gloria’s condition has taken a turn. Doctors recently discovered that her breast cancer has progressed and changed to HER2-positive—a more aggressive form of the disease. Because of this, Gloria had to restart chemotherapy, extending her treatment by at least another year. She will now be unable to return to work during this time, making her situation even more financially and emotionally overwhelming.

My name is Dania Araujo, and I’m reaching out to ask for your support for my dear friend, Gloria Romero. Gloria is a strong, resilient single mother of four beautiful children—two boys and two girls—who has been bravely battling breast cancer.

She recently completed the first round of chemotherapy and had just begun her second stage, which is even stronger and more challenging. But now, due to the cancer becoming HER2-positive, doctors had no choice but to start her treatment over. This change has not only intensified her physical battle but also delayed her ability to return to work for at least another year.

Once chemotherapy is complete, Gloria will face surgery, radiation, and then another surgery. Each one will require 4 to 8 weeks of recovery, adding to the time she’ll be unable to work and provide for her children.

Despite her strength, this journey has taken a serious toll—physically, emotionally, and financially. As a single mother, Gloria’s biggest concern has always been her children. She’s been the heart and backbone of her family, and now she needs help from her community.

That’s why I’ve started this fundraiser—to ease the financial burden so she can focus on healing and being present for her kids. Every donation, no matter the amount, will go directly toward medical bills, household expenses, and ensuring her children are cared for during this incredibly difficult time.

Cada donación, por pequeña que sea, se destinará directamente a cubrir gastos médicos, facturas del hogar y garantizar que sus hijos estén bien cuidados durante este momento tan difícil.
