I don't quite know how to start this but I do know I thank you for taking the time to read this!
My name is Stephanie. I am engaged to a beautiful, kind man, named John Restauro, and marrying into his great big loving family!
I'm so thankful because my mom passed away 4 years ago but this engagement is bringing a new Mom for me to cherish and respect! She is just amazing. I am so proud to be her daughter too.
A beautiful woman who was so brave to come to the United States alone, to help her mother, and make a life of her choosing.
After meeting the love of her life, the handsome Mr. Bill Restauro, she settled down in the city she dreamed of as a young woman in the Philippines... to be an American citizen, to be a part of it and to see the world.
Outspoken and smart she had a career as a valued government employee of the Presidio for years and used that security to provide for her family a comfortable life...I would do almost anything in the world to give her what she needs because I respect her so much...which leads to here.
Mrs Gloria has been diagnosed with stage 4 cancer of the uterus and fallopian tubes which has spread to her lungs.
It was a very big surprise as we were focused on managing stage IV kidney disease issues at the time she was admitted and had no idea. As things with one condition stabilized we discovered the other. Her loving son has stayed by her side every single day since her first night in hospital and advocated for her best care every step of the way.
Her younger sister is also hoping to travel from the Philippines to be with her, here in San Francisco, one last time. Auntie Precy's health is not the best, either, but she wants to make the trip, no matter, as Gloria is her only sister.
As big sister Gloria has always done her best to protect and provide help to her over the years. One of the reasons she came to the United States was to help Precy back in the PI.(We are currently in the process of applying for an emergency visa and hope to have her here soon!)
Our whole lives are changing to meet this emergency. And because of that I need to humbly ask for your help as we find our footing on this new path.
My wish is just for them to be able to focus on her healing and peace of mind as much as possible but Mom does not have Medi-Cal. Her son, John, will be responsible for all transportation to and from dialysis and chemotherapy as well as her home care.
Anything you could to help them would be a very big blessing that would be appreciated so deeply as this caught us unprepared but we are family and have faith so we won't give up.
We pray to do our best with this as sometimes it's scary, the not knowing, but together we will make it through.
Thanks for making it this far in reading, thank you for your time and ...take care of yourselves and tell your loved ones...you love them.
