On Wednesday, November 6th, Gloria and Ruben both fell down a long flight of stairs while trying to help a housecleaning client carry a heavy object. They visited the ER and learned that they had each suffered broken bones; Ruben also suffered severe lacerations. Their treatment has already included expensive tests and surgeries and they will likely incur additional expensive treatment costs. They had just canceled their health insurance policy to save money in order to send their beloved only daughter to college.

Gloria and Ruben are warm, generous, and kind people. They have worked extremely hard to support their daughter through their husband-wife housecleaning business. This accident has already caused them both severe pain, in addition to the high costs for the ER visit, overnight hospital stay for Ruben, and surgery. They are also very concerned about their lost income while they recover; they may be prohibited by doctors’ orders from working for several months.

I and several of their clients have organized this fundraiser in the hopes of not only covering their medical expenses but any future expenses that they and their family will face as a result of this accident. We ask you all to donate whatever you can to help and share as widely as possible. All of the money will be donated to Ruben and Gloria.
