Empowering Youth This International Youth Day (August 12th): A Call to Action for Students Everywhere
At Global Environmental Health LAB (GEH LAB), we believe children and youth are our future. Their education and well-being are deeply connected to their environment and support systems. As International Youth Day 2025 approaches, empowering this next generation is more critical than ever.
Hi, I'm Tomoyuki Shibata, co-founder and Executive Director of GEH LAB. Our non-profit creates healthier environments, using data to drive real-world impact. For years, GEH LAB has connected young American students with impactful field studies in Indonesia, fostering global citizens and leaders. This is truly youth empowering youth across borders.
Today, we invite you, whether you're a student in the U.S., Indonesia, or other countries, to support our groundbreaking initiative: the Alliance Consortium for Community Engaged Sciences (ACCESS). Established in Indonesia, ACCESS unites governments, NGOs, and academia to tackle pressing challenges facing Indonesian schoolchildren, especially those from low-income families and with disabilities. It's about ensuring all young people can thrive.
Your contribution to ACCESS directly fuels our key goals for 2025:
"STREAM for Healthy and Sustainable Living" Summer School: Empowering young minds with essential skills for a healthier, sustainable future.
Impactful Research for Child Well-being: Gathering crucial data to develop effective interventions and advocate for systemic change for children's health and learning.
Every contribution, no matter the size, makes a difference. For instance, your donation—the price of a venti green tea latte and chocolate cookies—can help us test one child for parasitic infection, a vital step for their health and academic performance.
Join GEH LAB and ACCESS in celebrating International Youth Day by empowering the next generation in Indonesia. Your support, student to student, can light up a future.
Thank you for being part of this vital work!
