Glen has been bravely battling both lymphoma and melanoma since 2020, requiring constant travel, which has been tough on the whole Decker family. He began melanoma immunotherapy treatments that year, and for a time, the melanoma went into remission. Just as he was preparing to start treatment for lymphoma, the melanoma returned and an emergency surgery was scheduled to remove 25 lymph nodes. Glen is now undergoing rounds of radiation and chemotherapy for the melanoma, and has just started chemotherapy for the lymphoma at the same time. Living in Wrangell in Southeast Alaska, Glen originally had to travel to Anchorage, but we successfully were able to switch his treatments closer to home in Ketchikan. Unfortunately, travel costs are not covered, and while friends and family have generously donated money and purchased flights with air miles to help, the ongoing need has become overwhelming. Recently, we learned that Glen will need at least another eight months of treatment. While we are eternally grateful for the wonderful family and friends who have provided him with a place to stay and a vehicle to use in Anchorage and now Ketchikan, the financial strain continues to grow.

The funds raised here will go directly toward Glen’s travel expenses and to support the family while he undergoes treatment and may not be able to work. We have tried to manage on our own, relying on the same circle of family and friends, but now we need to reach out for broader support.
