Hi everyone,

My name is Glenda Martin, and I’m a single mother of five with a passion for supporting mothers and families through one of life’s most transformative experiences—birth. For the past four years, I’ve been honored to serve as a doula, helping countless women feel empowered, informed, and cared for during their birthing journeys.

Now, I’m taking the next step in my calling: training to become a midwife. My goal is to bring safe, compassionate, and skilled care to families in our community, especially those who might not otherwise have access to it.

I’ve been accepted to attend the B.E.S.T. Birth Emergency Skills Training® (BEST)—the longest-running emergency skills course for out-of-hospital midwives. This course teaches critical, hands-on skills for managing emergencies and improving outcomes for mothers and babies. It’s an essential part of my midwifery education and something I know will make me a better care provider.

Unfortunately, the cost of the training is $700, and right now, as a single mom supporting five kids while working and studying, I simply can’t cover it on my own.

It’s never easy for me to ask for help, but this training is a vital step toward achieving my dream and continuing to serve families in the safest, most knowledgeable way possible.
