My sisters and I are raising funds to support our mom, Glenda D’Amico, as she continues fighting an incredibly difficult battle with cancer.
For the past eight months, our mom has been undergoing chemotherapy and immunotherapy for squamous cell carcinoma of the lung. Recently, our family received heartbreaking news that despite months of treatment, the cancer has progressed and is now deteriorating part of her rib cage, causing increased pain and requiring a more aggressive treatment plan.
Her doctors are now moving forward with daily radiation treatments, five days a week for the next several weeks, while continuing chemotherapy. The physical toll of treatment, combined with pain, fatigue, and the emotional weight of constant appointments and uncertainty, has made this season especially difficult for her and for all of us who love her.
Although my dad, Alan D’Amico, continues to work as much as he is able to support their household, he is also facing ongoing health challenges of his own. The reality is that the financial burden has become overwhelming. Even with insurance, medical expenses continue to rise quickly, and over the past eight months alone, the cost of treatment and care has reached an overwhelming level, with many expenses still not fully covered.
We are raising funds to help cover:
• Medical bills not covered by insurance
• Ongoing treatment-related expenses
• Prescription costs and specialist care
• Household expenses during this difficult time
Our mom is a devoted mother to her three daughters and someone who has always put others before herself. She has spent years helping those around her, giving quietly, showing up when people needed her, and offering support without ever asking for recognition in return. Everything she has ever done has been rooted in love for her family.
Our goal is to ease some of the financial stress so she can focus on fighting this disease, managing treatment, and finding comfort during an incredibly difficult time.
If you are able to donate, share, or simply keep our family in your thoughts and prayers, we would be deeply grateful. Every contribution, no matter the size, truly helps.
