Just wanted to share, I have struggled with kidney disease for many years now and was blessed with a new kidney 9 years ago. Well, that kidney stopped working, and I have been on dialysis for almost 11 months now. All that to say/brag about my selfless wife. She tried to donate to me, but unfortunately, we did not match. However, that did not stop her. She recently donated her kidney to a complete stranger from the East Coast (Philadelphia) who was in the same situation as me. She did this to put me into an exchange program, which opens up and hopefully drastically increases my odds of getting a new kidney sooner. The most selfless act with zero guarantees, and she did it with zero hesitation, all in hopes to help me get better soon. Love you so much, Gladys Marquez!!! You saved a stranger's life, and I know God will allow you to save mine!
With that being said, with over a year of medical expenses and travel and what’s to come in the future, funds to be able to do something special for her are very limited and I would like to do something in honor of her saving a stranger's life with her kidney donation and in hopes of saving mine too. I am not one to ever ask for help, but I feel she deserves something very special I can’t do right now.
