Gladys has been part of the Donato Enoteca restaurant family for more than 15 years. While many of our guests may not know her face, they certainly know her work. Gladys is the talented pastry chef who has been preparing the desserts that so many of you have enjoyed over the years.
Unfortunately, this past September Gladys began experiencing severe stomach pain. After medical examinations, she received the devastating diagnosis of cancer affecting both her liver and colon. She is currently undergoing weekly chemotherapy and continues to face this battle with courage and hope. As her colleagues and friends, we are doing everything we can to support her during this incredibly difficult time.
Gladys is not only an incredibly hardworking person, but also a devoted mother. Since birth, her son has faced significant health challenges—he was born with only one kidney and one leg. To give him the opportunity to walk and live as normal a life as possible, he underwent major surgery and now relies on a permanent prosthetic leg. Throughout all of this, Gladys has done everything she could to support and care for him, working nights in our kitchen to be present in her son’s life during the day, quietly dedicating herself to making the desserts our guests love. Now it's our turn to support Gladys.
We are asking our community to join us in supporting someone who, for so many years, has brought joy to our tables through her work. Any contribution, no matter the size, will help Gladys with the medical and living expenses she now faces, and most importantly will remind her that she is not alone in this fight. Thank you for your kindness, generosity, and support.
