Hi everyone! My name is Gordon Tapper and I have an NGO, Give Them a Hand Foundation GTAH.org. I am from Jamaica and migrated to the USA, attended Pace University where I obtained a bachelors degree l. I worked for the UN for 35 years where I was Chief of a Section in Administration and Management. I have taken
- medical and humanitarian missions to Haiti, Dominican Republic, Jamaica and New Orleans after Katrina. My website GTAH.org has much of my humanitarian work.
- As you already know, Jamaica was recently devastated by Hurricane Melissa, a category 5 hurricane. I am raising funds to help the people in the village where I grew up. The Government of Jamaica, the Red Cross and other organizations are seeking funds from the diaspora and international agencies, but these funds are not likely to reach the deep rural villages like James Hill in Clarendon, Central Jamaica for some time. The funds you provide me will be distributed fairly to the village people who are most impacted by Melissa to help them purchase zinc for roofing, food, clothes and bedding.
