On 2/27/2026, our friend and neighbor, Giuseppe, was kidnapped by immigration and customs officials.
Giuseppe has a legal and pending court case seeking asylum in the United States and has been living in Chicago for the past 4 years. Giuseppe is a kind, generous, and hardworking person. He supports his family back home, sending them $300 a week. While in Chicago, he has been the primary provider, covering most living expenses to ensure housing for himself and his cousin until recently.
We're asking for support to cover Giuseppe's legal fees, bail, and living expenses, providing a stable footing for him once he returns. All funds will be sent to Gina, Giuseppe's partner, and used in accordance with his wishes.
Giuseppe works as a mechanic, loves monster trucks, can't handle spicy food, is a master chess player, and is one of the gentlest men I have ever met. I've seen him show up at community events, ready to help and engage despite language barriers. His kidnapping has shocked and frightened those of us near him.
Please consider donating whatever you can to support Giuseppe and his family during this time.
