Hi everyone,
I’m excited to share that I’ll be representing the United States at the World Champion of Champions in Australia in September, at one of the most prestigious events in international lawn bowls, where national champions from around the world compete individually for the global title. The women’s and men’s events are held separately, and each country sends one player per gender.
I earned this opportunity by winning the U.S. National Singles Championship last year. In our system, the Champion of Champions spot is reserved for the previous year’s winner, meaning I’ve been preparing for this moment ever since, though I never imagined I’d be doing it while between jobs and relying on savings.
The tournament is entirely self-funded, and the total cost of travel and lodging is around $5,000. I’ve reached out to my community before for support with international competition, and I’m deeply grateful for the generosity that made those trips possible. If you're able to contribute again, or share this with others who might want to help, your support would mean the world.
Thank you so much for being part of this journey. I’m training hard, staying focused, and ready to represent the U.S. with everything I’ve got.
With gratitude,
Giulia Gallo
