Support Giu writing "Joyful Mourning"

Donation protected
Giu (they/them) is from our Belgium based community and is a artist, writer, poet. With this GoFundMe we are inviting you to show your support so that Giu is able get the financial and communal resources to develop their art and work. In the past year they didn’t have the resources (computer and IT-tools) to bring their work forward and your donation will make a direct difference to Giu’s artistic journey.
Next to donations, Giu is also looking for network and mentoring for their theatre-piece.
Your donations will help Giu to:
Purchase a computer and IT-Tools to do their work and create their art and also digitally share it. It will enable Giu to further develop their visual identity on Patreon, the platform where they are looking forward to share their work with a broader community.
Theatre and mentoring
Giu is also in the process of developing a theatre-piece and is looking for mentor and people in theatre out of Black and Trans community to mentor them specifically on the dramaturgy, scenography and stage direction.
They would also benefit from finding someone to help them build their visual identity. Their goal is to be able to create outside of the usual institutional channels that they don’t find necessarily welcoming of their work. Giu would rather rely on mutual aid and the sharing of their work in a more community based setting.
Community based working
Having support, network and mentoring coming from the community (and specifically the Black Trans Community) is vital to Giu as it is important for them that their art and collaborations reflect its community-based influence. They would like to be able to rely on this support system, because, in their experience, even if institutions are ready to be supportive they are rarely tooled to understand their experiences and the true meaning behind their artistic intentions.
A personal note from Giu:
“I am very mindful about people with more modest funds giving what they cannot afford. In my experience I have realized that the poorest give the most. So I would like to urge the most financially vulnerable not to overestimate their capacity to give.”

Once the goal for this campaign is reached, Giu would like to for the extra money to be redirected to previous beneficiaries that didn’t make their goal or future beneficiaries. Giu does acknowledge they are also poor, but they still have a few resources and more financial stability is coming.
Let’s support Giu toward reaching their envisioned amount!
