Hi, my name is Johannie Rivera-Picart, and I have started this fundraiser to help my nephew Giovanni Rivera fight Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML) at 22 years old. He resides in Puerto Rico with his mom and two brothers. While on a cruise vacation in January, he started to feel ill. When he got home, his mom took him to the doctor as the symptoms continued. After being taken to two different hospitals and having no diagnosis, they finally went to another, where he was diagnosed with AML and hospitalized from April 26 until July 6. In June, he did a round of chemo called 7 + 3 (Cytarabine + Daunorubicin). On July 29th, he will have a bone marrow biopsy to do determine next steps and further treatment. While Giovanni has been home, he has been enjoying limited visits from his brothers and girlfriend.

All contributions will go towards for medical expenses, travel to and from treatment, and for living expenses as he can not work and his mom has taken time from work to care and be with him. He appreciates all the love and support he has received thus far from everyone.
