Hi Everyone!
My name is Ginny and I’m a very distinguished 6.5-year-old German Shepherd X (emphasis on distinguished—I’ve earned these gray hairs).
My mom Katlyn adopted me in 2019 and we’ve been inseparable ever since. I’m her shadow, security guard, emotional support system, and professional snack-taster.
I’ve had a few “medical adventures” over the years—parvo as a pup (shoutout to Uncle Mitchell for saving me!), ear drama, allergies, and some other fun surprises. But this summer has been a little over the top:
July started with a rough ear infection. We treated it. ✅
The meds for that ended up hiding a really nasty UTI. I stopped eating, drinking, and playing—so off to the ER we went. Turns out, just a UTI! Pee problems are no joke, folks.
Then a mysterious bump showed up on my side. At first we thought bug bite. Nope. Fast forward to this weekend: it got bigger, sore, and then turned into an open wound under my bandage. Yikes.
So… back to the vet we go. Again.
Mom doesn’t like asking for help, but three urgent vet bills in six weeks is tough, especially for a teacher in the summer months. She even took on extra camps and side gigs, and got me pet insurance—but of course it doesn’t kick in for another couple weeks. Classic fine print.
She jokes that I should “get a job” to cover my bills, but apparently my paw pics aren’t trending and no one wants to buy half-eaten tennis balls. So here I am, telling my story, hoping some kind friends might help lighten the load.
If you can give, thank you from the bottom of our hearts (and paws). If you can’t, we totally understand—sending us love and good vibes means the world too. Hopefully this is my last plot twist before my insurance starts… or maybe I’ll finally just decide to be a healthy, normal dog for once.
Thanks for reading,
Love, Ginny
P.S. If we happen to raise more than what’s needed for my vet bills, Mom and I will donate the rest to our local dog rescue so other pups like me can get the care they need too.
