Ginger's New Wheels: Help Me Regain My Independence
Hello everyone,
I'm Ginger Venable, a 52-year-old woman living with limb girdle muscular dystrophy. This journey began for me when I was just 12 years old, and by the time I turned 30, my condition progressed to the point where I needed an electric wheelchair to maintain my mobility and independence.
For the past year, my current wheelchair has been breaking down repeatedly. Despite numerous repair attempts, it's become increasingly unreliable - and if you rely on a wheelchair as your primary means of movement like I do, you understand how terrifying that uncertainty can be.
The good news is that my insurance has approved a new Permobile F3 electric wheelchair! This chair will give me back my confidence and independence. The challenge I'm facing is that Medicare only covers 80% of the cost, leaving me with a $5,000 copayment that I simply cannot afford on my own.
That's why I'm reaching out to you - my friends, family, and even strangers with kind hearts. Your contribution, no matter how small, will help me cover this essential copayment and get me back to living my life with dignity and independence.
For those who've never needed a wheelchair, it might be hard to understand what this means. My wheelchair isn't just equipment - it's my legs, my freedom, and my connection to the world around me.
Every donation brings me one step closer to my goal. If you're unable to contribute financially, please consider sharing my story with others who might be able to help.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for any support you can offer.
With gratitude, Ginger
