Support Ginger's Journey to Recovery

Dear friends and family:

If you've met Ginger, you know she's an angel! as all dogs are <3 Ginger has been my partner for the last 6 years and counting! She has been with me through the happiest and most challenging times. In all honesty, we truly found each other.

After moving to CA, she has been transitioning to her senior years. It hasn't been easy, but with our new small and mighty family we've had such happy memories and gone through other health challenges - but she's been here through it all!

I'm organizing this fundraiser since Ginger has been recently diagnosed with a neck disc rupture. Unfortunately, her insurance is capped at 10.5k - MRI+Neurologist+other vet expenses have already reached that… talk about the wonderful US healthcare system…. (not at all wonderful).

Ginger is still full of life and eager to stick around for a while longer. When the sun is out (you know how picky she can be with the weather), she still loves to run around and smell the roses. She’s been happiest in her time here in Cali and I really believe she still has so much more to experience and enjoy.

Most of this fund will cover the surgery (>$14kUSD), but as I’m sure you can understand, we still don’t fully know everything it will take to get her back on her feet as she still will need physical therapy (which we're getting quoted for ~$400USD per session).

Any amount helps us get Ginger the help she needs. Thank you in advance for your generosity. Ginger’s future memories will be due to your help. (We'll attach surgery+other invoices once we have them!)

Bonus:
We consulted Ginger, and just so that you could know her story, she was okay with us writing a little something on her behalf:

Hello friends and family! Ginger here! Thank you for taking the time to get to know me.

6 years ago, I found myself wandering through the streets of my old hood: Atizapan ('todo el fin' playing in the background - if you know, you know!). I stumbled upon this place with a lot of hoomans that were happy to give me pets and food! (el Tec they called it).
There were many hoomans that gave me some pets, but, this one weird hooman in particular cut me off just to say hi to me WAY too excitedly. (mom always embarrassing me since day 0) I kept going and went about my day. I stumbled into a library and stopped at a really comfy puff to sleep in.

After my usual 8 hour siesta, I decided to wander around to see where life would take me next. Little did I know that on this cold night I would run into that weird hooman again and I wouldn't have to wander any longer… I got a loving home, a roof over my head, a full belly every night, a fashionable wardrobe, and eventually got hired to be her proud service doggo!

After mom and I got our degree in December of 2022 , we moved to Cali and I have been living my best life since.
Proud of us!
Riding in X Style!

Nonetheless, it's been a VERY busy year for me... full time job trying to maintain all these hoomans sane at the office...
... one of those days where you seriously contemplate your life choices...

Getting along with my new roommate,
and exploring my new home, dear Cali!

Despite my fun in the sun, the last few months my back legs have started to get sloppy…
It’s been harder to chase my ball, follow Mom up and down the stairs (I HAVE to be beside her at all times), and in general difficult to do the things I usually do.

After countless vet visits, we knew that my troubles had to be something more than age (I’m like only 8 anyway). Turns out I have a ruptured disc on my neck… My spine is pushing on my spinal cord which makes it harder for me to use my legs. I may never get back to the way I used to be, but removing the sharp point squeezing my nerves will certainly help keep me enjoying all that my friends, family, and home have to offer.

Thank you for all the moments we've shared together and for your generous help on my journey to getting back at it! Mom, Dad and my little family need me to keep inspiring them to relax a little, enjoy life, and take frequent naps.

Signing off, until I get better again! I'll be counting the days until I can see you and get your pets again.
With love and sending you all some face licks,
Ginger xx.
