Raul has lived in the United States 31 years since 1995! A legal refugee who has resided in New Mexico for the past 27 years, it is the only home he has ever really known as he came here so young. He is a devoted husband to me of 26 years, very inclusive father of 3, and a hardworking member of his community.

Almost 8 months ago on 7/22/25, during a routine immigration check-in, Raul was unexpectedly detained by immigration authorities because of a 31-year-old charge from his younger years that was later completely dismissed from his record. Despite having built his life here for decades, Raul is now facing the possibility of deportation. However, he has been told his country doesn't want him and naturally he doesn’t want to be forced to a 3rd world country as others have to only be indefinitely detained; this is inhumane and not deserved!

His sudden detention has left me, his wife of 26 years, Gina, and our children navigating an incredibly difficult and uncertain time. We are working with an attorney to pursue every available legal option to bring Raul home.

I am raising funds to help support our family during this period to assist with legal expenses and all related costs I incur as I fight to keep my family together.
