Our wonderful co-worker Gina's apartment burned down a few weeks ago, she lost everything inside. She was home when it started and was just barely able to make it out in time, with her 2 cats in tow, scaling down the fire escape. Sadly, one of her neighbors was not able to get out of the building.

It's a very tragic and unsettling situation.

We are glad she is safe, but unfortunately, now she needs to replace all her stuff. While insurance is able to cover many things, it is not comprehensive, and she will be displaced for the next couple of years at least while the apartment gets rebuilt.

We are starting this fundraiser to support her through this difficult time, to help her transition between places, and get everything she needs.
