Support Gilbert Gallardo's Cancer Battle

I'm Maggie Patron-Shay and I'm trying to raise funds for my Son-In-Law Gilbert Gallardo. On May 7, 2025, he was diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma cancer. This rare blood-type cancer is a form of cancer that invades the human blood system (white blood cells, also known as plasma) through the human body. When plasma cells are damaged, these cells can over-produce and weaken the body's immune system, leading to abnormal amounts of the M-Protein that can damage the kidneys, cause bone injury or loss, and impact other areas of the body. The cancerous plasma cells can rapidly spread and crowd out normal cells, forming cancerous tumors in the bone marrow or soft tissue.

He is still hospitalized and it's not known when he can be released to go home. His chemo treatments will take about 6-7 months to complete, just to see if his cancer can go into remission. His wife (my daughter) has taken a family leave of absence to care for Gilbert.

The reasons for this GoFundMe request is because Gilbert is only 42 years old, has a family of 7, and is not able to work. This fund would help with the large medical bills, expensive cancer treatments and medications, and help support his family while he goes through his extensive cancer treatments. It would help provide his family with some financial stability while he, my daughter, and their children go through this unwanted journey together.
