Dear friends, family, and generous souls,
Our sweet Gigi — a tiny 8-pound Chihuahua mix — has just survived the unthinkable. A few days ago, she was attacked by a coyote right outside our home, near Bella Coola Ln. It was sudden, violent, and terrifying. We rushed her to the emergency vet. The injuries were serious. Gigi had deep bite wounds and severe internal trauma. Her left eye was so badly damaged that it had to be surgically removed in an emergency enucleation. We didn’t hesitate — we just wanted her to live.
Thanks to the incredible care she received at Mid-Columbia Pet Emergency, Gigi is still with us. She made it through. She’s resting, healing, and slowly starting to show her sweet spark again. Her face looks different now, but her spirit is the same — full of love and fight. Gigi has always been more than a dog. She’s family. She’s our little shadow, our emotional support, our joy on hard days. She leans into us when we sit beside her. She still wags her tail when we enter the room. Even in pain, Gigi continues to show the same unconditional love she always has. Even now, bandaged and hurting, she still leans in for cuddles and tries to wag her tail. Her spirit hasn’t broken.
Now comes the hard part — the healing, the aftercare, and the mounting vet bills. So far, her emergency treatment has cost us over $3,500, and the expenses continue to grow as she recovers. We’re asking for your help — whether it’s a donation or a simple share. Every single dollar will go directly to her medical costs and recovery. If you’ve ever loved a pet like family, you know how much this means to us.
Thank you for standing with us, for believing in Gigi’s fight, and for giving her the chance to keep spreading her love in this world.
With all our hearts,
The Barragan Family
