We are reaching out today with heavy hearts and a plea for help. Our beloved Labradoodle, Gigi, underwent a routine spay surgery on June 12th at our local Nutmeg Clinic. Unfortunately, what was meant to be a simple procedure turned into a frightening medical emergency.
On June 16th, around 10 a.m., we noticed something alarming—her incision was oozing, and suddenly, her intestine was hanging out of her surgical site. Panicked and worried for her life, we rushed her to the VCA Animal Hospital, where she received emergency treatment and underwent life-saving surgery.
We are uncertain what caused this complication, but we strongly suspect there may have been malpractice during her spay procedure. We have tried reaching the Nutmeg Clinic multiple times, but they have not responded.
Gigi is now in recovery, doing well under close supervision. We are vigilantly watching her 24/7, filled with hope and prayers for her full recovery. As a family with three kids—one in college and another preparing to apply—our finances are stretched thin. The unexpected veterinary bills have placed a heavy burden on us, and we are humbly asking for any help you can provide.
All donations will go directly toward Gigi’s veterinary bills, medications, and ongoing care. Your generosity means the world to us and will give Gigi the best chance to heal and return to her happy, playful self. May God bless you for your generosity.
