Support Gideon Kamp's Road to Recovery

Donation protected
Gideon Kamp was a vibrant young boy that loved to dance to music. He was just learning to stand up when he began to get sick with cold-like symptoms. He was seen by doctors who diagnosed him with an unknown viral infection. He was returned home, and his parents were told to keep him hydrated and monitor his symptoms.

On the morning of December 28th, his mother went to wake him up and found him awake but immobile in his crib. She sensed something had taken a turn for the worse, and 911 was called. Paramedics arrived and took him to the hospital. While being assessed, he began to have a seizure-like episode. After being stabilized, he had an MRI and Genetic testing. H
e was diagnosed with a rare condition called A.N.E (Acute Necrotizing Encephalopathy). They also found he has a rare variant of the GRIN2A gene, which doctors believed, due to the viral infection and this gene variant, made him susceptible to brain damage (ANE condition). Currently, he is still hospitalized but has made great improvement in his condition. He still has a long road to recovery, which will include gastrostomy tube feeding, intensive occupational, and speech therapy.

Funds raised through GoFundMe will be used to support him and his family during this very difficult time.
