Support Giada's fight against DIPG (Brain stem Tumor)
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Giada "Rosemary" Wood. I'm 7 years old and have been diagnosed with DIPG (Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma), which is a rare type of cancer that formed in my brain stem.❤️
I started the 1st grade as a happy, healthy, energetic girl. I joined the cheerleading team, which I loved so much. On November 27th, my parents noticed the left side of my face began to droop and my eye wasn't blinking. I was taken to Children's Hospital of Atlanta and quickly diagnosed with Bell's Palsy. I went home looking to fully recover.
Instead, my symptoms took a turn for the worse, and it became hard for me to see out of my left eye, and my mobility started to decline. My parents saw fit for me to have a second evaluation. I was returned to Children's Hospital of Atlanta, where they performed an MRI. What was found shook my family to the core. At 7 years old, I was given a terminal diagnosis and a prognosis.
This is something no parent wants to go through. My parents' and siblings' lives have changed forever. I'm a strong little girl and will fight this with God's favor and strength. My family has worked closely with my Neuro-Oncology team and has comprised a plan of action.
I come to you to tell my story and bring awareness to the world. This will and has been a challenging time. I'm still my bubbly, laughing self and am looking forward to getting back to my cheerleading friends and dancing all day. If my story has moved you and you'd like to bless and support me and my family, you can donate here. See you all soon❤️
