Hello from Glen Haven Elementary in Wheaton, MD! We’re excited to share our plans for a meaningful field trip to Philadelphia on Friday, April 17, 2026.

Our 5th-graders are currently learning about the government and the Constitution. To bring these lessons to life, we hope to take them on a day-long field trip to Philadelphia, the birthplace of American democracy. We'd also visit the Franklin Institute and experience a planetarium presentation to support their science unit on the solar system.

Our Goal:

We aim to raise $8,000 to offset the cost of transportation, meals, and entry fees so every child can participate. There are a total of 84 fifth-grade students.

Why It Matters:

• Our students will experience the history of our nation.

• They will explore scientific discoveries that shape the world around them.

• It will strengthen their curiosity and love of learning.

Nuestros alumnos de quinto grado están aprendiendo sobre el gobierno y la Constitución. Para que estas lecciones cobren vida, queremos llevarlos a una excursión de un día a Filadelfia, la cuna de la democracia estadounidense.
