Support Gertz-Ressler Swimmers with Custom Parkas

Hello everyone my name is Isaura. My little brother Tobias started his freshman year at Gertz-Ressler High School and he decided to join the swim team. After 5 years of Gertz not having a swim team, this year they are finally back- with 32 swimmers on the team! I went to their first swim meet and the weather was not the best. It was windy, cold, and rainy. I noticed that most students only had towels and not parkas. A parka is what swimmers use to keep warm in between their swim relays. By the time they were half done most swimmers were shivering because their towels were wet and they were cold.

My brother is fortunate enough to have two sisters who are able to help him out financially if he needs an expensive item like a parka. It is understandable that families are unable to purchase such an expensive item for their swimmer. Therefore, it is my hope that we can come together as a community to raise money to purchase customized parkas for the entire swim team.

The company Agon Swim is able to create a customized parka for the price of $130 each. If the GoFundMe exceeds the amount needed to pay for each parka, the rest of the funds will be donated to the swim team for their needs such as snacks or other equipment.

I graduated from Gertz-Ressler High School ten years ago and I feel this is a great way for me to show my love for Gertz and the community. I would really appreciate it if you are able to contribute any amount towards this goal! The swim team would be incredibly surprised and appreciative of such a gift, especially since they haven't been an active team since 2020!

Hola a todos, mi nombre es Isaura. Mi hermano menor, Tobias, comenzó su primer año en la preparatoria Gertz-Ressler y decidió unirse al equipo de natación. Después de 5 años sin tener un equipo de natación, ¡este año por fin están de regreso, con 32 nadadores en el equipo!

Fui a su primera competencia de natación y el clima no fue el mejor. Hacía viento, frío y llovía. Noté que la mayoría de los estudiantes solo tenían toallas y no parkas. Una parka es lo que los nadadores usan para mantenerse abrigados entre sus relevos. Para cuando iban a la mitad del evento, la mayoría de los nadadores ya estaban temblando porque sus toallas estaban mojadas y tenían frío.

Mi hermano tiene la suerte de tener dos hermanas que pueden ayudarle económicamente si necesita algo costoso como una parka. Es comprensible que algunas familias no puedan comprar un artículo tan caro para su nadador. Por eso, es mi esperanza que podamos unirnos como comunidad para recaudar fondos y comprar parkas personalizadas para todo el equipo de natación.

La empresa Agon Swim puede hacer parkas personalizadas por el precio de $130 cada una. Si el GoFundMe supera la cantidad necesaria para cubrir el costo de cada parka, el resto de los fondos será donado al equipo para cubrir otras necesidades como refrigerios o equipo adicional.

Yo me gradué de la preparatoria Gertz-Ressler hace diez años y siento que esta es una gran manera de demostrar mi cariño por Gertz y por la comunidad. ¡Les agradecería mucho si pudieran contribuir con cualquier cantidad para alcanzar esta meta!
